Curriculum

We integrate and implement the South African curriculum, focusing on high quality teaching to improve student achievement. A variety of differentiated instructions in teaching and learning is used to ensure a learning environment that is safe, caring and inclusive. Each phase is designed to ensure that students receive all the required skills and knowledge required for their specific phase. Electronics and mobile learning can be seen as an additional learning resource that can also help enhance access to learning tools.

Grade R – Grade 3

Our Foundation Phase curriculum promotes four aspects of achievement:

  • The ability to express in oral and written form.
  • The ability to apply knowledge through practical tasks and problem-solving skills.
  • The development of personal and social skills.
  • The development of self-confidence.

  • Life skills

Grade 4 – Grade 6

Our Intermediate Phase curriculum encourages investigating, modelling, designing solutions, engaging our learners in science, collaboration and presentation skills, critical thinking and problem solving. Our major subjects and areas of learning are:

  • English (Home Language)-
  • Afrikaans (First Additional Language)
  • Mathematics
  • Natural Science/Technology
  • Social Science (History and Geography)
  • Life Orientation/Physical Education

Grade 7 – Grade 9

In our Senior Phase learners have to decide on subject choices and career direction when they finish school. This means that they make very important decisions that will impact not only Grade 10 to 12 but also on their working life after school.

Under FET Phase learners can choose from a wide range of subjects as per the National Curriculum provided by the Department of Education.
